IRISH NIGHT:
Derry O’Shea, supreme accordion player, provides the music next Sunday night at Carmody’s Bar Chapel St. Tarbert for what promises to be an Irish Night to remember. So the moral of the story is, if you want real entertainment, Carmody’s Bar is a must next Sunday night.
FINE GAEL:
Enda Kenny, TD and Leader of Fine Gael will be attending a Jamboree/Barbecue in O’Riada’s Bar, Castleisland Road, Ballymacelligott, Tralee on Friday, July 30 at 8pm. Food will be served from 9-10.30pm. This is a free event and everyone is welcome.
HOLIDAY HOOLEY:
The West Limerick 102fm Bank Holiday Hooley takes place at the Devon Inn on Monday, August 2 with music by Kate Sheerin and her band, Norman Borland, Simon Donnegan and Mike Condon. Dancing from 10pm to1am and admission is €10.
TARBERT G.A.A.
There was no jackpot winner at the Tarbert G.A.A. lotto draw at Carmody’s Bar last weekend. The winning numbers were; 2, 7, 11 and 22. The winner of the bar prize was Alice O’Donnell and the lucky dip winners were; Mary Langan, Gabriel McGovern, Jim Wren, Donal Finucane and Sean Coolahan. This week's draw for a jackpot of 13,800 euro
will be held at Savage’s Bar. Sincere thanks to all who promote and support the lotto.
COUNTY LEAGUE:
Tarbert Senior team had a four point deficit in their round seven game away to Kilcummin on Saturday evening last. They were in the lead at half time by the minimum, five points to four and increased this lead to two points mid way through the second half with a score of seven points to five. However the team failed to maintain the momentum and finished the game on a scoreline of Kilcummin 0-12 Tarbert 0-08.
The team and scorers were as follows; Donncha Enright, Steve Deenihan (0-03) Deo O’ Connor, Danny Wren, Jason Wren, Ambrose Lanigan, Jimmy Holly, Kieran Deenihan(0-02), Kevin Wren, Sean McGinley, Stephen O’Connor(0-01), Ian Flavin (0-01), Denis Kiely, Donal Leahy and John Kelleher (0-01). Tarbert substitute who played, Gavin O’Donnell.
Tarbert have four more games to play in the County League, two home and two away. It is important that they pick up at least four points from these games in order to consolidate their position in division two for 2011.
