Minor County Final Report

MINOR COUNTY FINAL

After battling bravely for seventy five minutes Tarbert had eventually to concede defeat in the last five minutes of extra time to a stronger and more physical Moyvane team in the final of the County League

Played at Coolard last Friday evening. Moyvane opened the scoring  with a point but within minutes Tarbert took the lead with points from David Langan and Gerald O Sullivan. A goal and two points for Moyvane and two points for Tarbert left the half time score  Moyvane   1-03  Tarbert  0-04

Tarbert drew level at the start of the second half with points from David Langan and Gerald O Sullivan. Both sides exchanged points before Niall Foley put Tarbert in front with a point. The match was played at a frantic pace facing the final quarter with Tarbert defence in which Shane O Connor excelled repelling

Moyvane.s best efforts to retrieve the game. Tarbert had their opponents on the rack nearing the end of the second half but failed to capitalize on some scoring opportunities. Moyvane eventually breached the Tarbert defence with two points to give them a one point lead which Tarbert cancelled out with a point from David Langan, to leave the full time score  Moyvane  1-06  Tarbert  0-09. Extra time had to be played in which Moyvane outscored Tarbert  3-01 to 0-02 to leave the final score Moyvane  4-07
