Tarbert versus St Pats U14 county league div 6 final 12th May
Tarbert and St Pats played out what was a clash of the top two teams in div 6 this year
This game was played with passion, fleer and top class football from start to finish.
Tarbert were first off the mark with a free from the trusted boot of A Doherty followed up by a wonder point from the ever clever K Langan. St Pats struck back within a few mins with a goal due to very slack marking from some of the Tarbert backs. This game was now going to be tight and scores would be will earned for both sides .Tarbert again pulled ahead from a master goal from Langan. Our lads added two more points to extend their lead to 1-4 to 1-0 and looking in total control lost position in the back line to concede a very easy goal which only trickled over the line. Time for changes in a few key areas and moving Sean Carrig back out to midfield really settled Tarberts game again and notched up another 1-1 from Langan and 2 points for Doherty leaving Tarbert 2-7 to 2-0 at half time
The second half begun very lively and after just 5 mins Tarbert were reduced to 14 men .St pats throw every thing at us now and really looked that this was not going to be our day. Tarbert were fighting for their lives and only for what can be described as top class defending from our full back line and goalie we would have been on the other side of the final score line. Pats had now brought the game to within 3 points.Tarberts fitness told in the last five mins scoring 3 unanswered points to leave the score line
Tarbert 2-12 st pats 2-6
